Antique Japanese Cotton Kasuri Maekake, or Apron
This is an antique cotton maekake, or apron, used to cover the lower half of the body. It is created from an indigo dyed warp kasuri cotton which has a beautiful geometric woven pattern. A thin sash of orange red cotton is used to secure the apron around the waist.
It does not appear to have been used often though there is some minor discoloration to the sash. It is in very good, useable, condition.
Early to mid 1900s
