An Antique Japanese Textile: A Heavily Patched Indigo Boro futon
This is a stunning boro futon cover comprised of dozens of faded hand spun, handwoven Japanese indigo dyed cottons layered over the base fabric.
This futon has been dramatically mended with beautiful indigo dyed sashiko stitching and patched and padded with a variety of fading cotton indigos. This boro is a thick, heavy weight due to the multiple layers of patchwork and is a very collectible textile.
A prime example of Japanese boro and a highlight from our personal collection.
