Indigo Boro Noragi Jacket

This is an antique Japanese workwear jacket called a noragi.
The outside of this textile is made of heavy weight, handwoven, and handspun cotton. The jacket is a handsome pebble or stone color and there is no visible staining or damage to the outside of the coat. The collar is lined with natural indigo dyed cotton.
The inside is is sewn from nineteenth and early twentieth century patches of indigo dyed cotton that have been arranged, mended, and stitched. The variety of indigoes gives the jacket a geometric design.
In excellent condition and is suitable for wearing.
