Sashiko and Kasuri Noragi
This is a beautiful woman's sashiko noragi or work jacket.
Visually the garment is divided into half. The top half is hand woven indigo cotton kasuri, while the bottom half is a striking indigo dyed, hand loomed shibori cotton.
The inside of the jacket is lined with aged hand spun indigo cotton. The outer and inner layers of fabric are bound via hundreds of sashiko stitches in a spiraling square pattern.
Two coin sized stains on the proper back and some fraying at the tip of the sleeve, but in otherwise excellent condition. Highly suitable for wear or display.
Dimensions: 36" (sleeve to sleeve) x 39" (top to bottom)
