Shibori Child's Kimono With Chevron Pattern
This is a vintage child's shibori cotton yukata with a unique indigo dyed chevron pattern.
The shibori technique is "hira-nui hikishime" shibori which is a type of stitched and gathered method.
The shoulder and the bodice of this child's yukata have been folded and sewn so that it may be adjusted for the child's height.
This piece is in good condition without tears, however there is light discoloration over a large portion of the surface as seen in the photographs. Still, the subtle variation within the chevron pattern is beautiful.
Early to mid 1900s
