Indigo Dyed Shibori Fragment with Boro Repairs
This is a vintage cotton textile fragment decorated with mixed shibori tie-dye techniques of kanoko (spaced dots), boshi (capped circles), and shapes, perhaps of fundo weights. The pattern is relaxed and repeats over the entire surface of the cloth.
The textile is a single panel of lightweight cotton with selvedge running along each edge lengthwise. The upper hem has been turned in and hand stitched, while the bottom hem remains unfinished. A faded indigo cotton boro patch has been added as a repair and reinforcement. Small remnants of cotton remain along one edge.
A nice casual example of shibori in good condition suitable as a casual scarf or wrap, or to be re-purposed within your own project.
